![]() Don't have too many players on attack duties. Keep that in mind and don't play more than one playmaker in the same formation. Having more than one playmaker usually brings more harm than good. Does it seem like your forwards are too far away from the rest of the team and they are not getting any balls? Maybe the defensive shape is too stretched out and/or you need a player on a duty that better connects midfield with forwards. Do you have solid Ball playing centrebacks? Your goalkeeper should probably distribute balls to them. Start with all team instructions turned off, watch extended or comprehensive highlights and slowly sprinkle team instructions one after another and see what works. Things!! If you play in lower leagues, it would probably be better to play with two simple CM on support duties rather than having Mezzala and Box to Box midfielder. Do you have a lot of central midfielders and pacey wingers? 4-4-2 should suit your team well.ĭo. Does your team have a lot of attacking midfielders and not too many strikers? Maybe 4-2-3-1 should be your formation of choice. Try different formations so you immediately see what are your team's strength and weaknesses. Needless to say, I was always bored after 2-3 seasons. I was always a guy who downloads the "best" tactic and uses it all the time. Try NOT to download a tactic if you can avoid it - figuring up your tactic is really rewarding and half of FM fun. Again, watch FM Base videos if you feel like you need some more help. I won't go into TOO much detail, but I will try to mention everything needed to fix at least basic mistakes. This is obviously the most complex topic which many newcomers probably struggle with.
